Mi impegno a narrare la bellezza, la leggerezza e la drammaticità della vita. Desidero creare fotografie e video capaci di suscitare emozioni, di spingerci alla riflessione, di condurci in luoghi nascosti dentro di noi, dove i colori parlano e i cuori palpitano. Fotografare non solo posti ricchi di vita e luoghi animati, ma anche la diversità delle persone nei loro tratti e nei loro colori. Voglio raccontare la bellezza, riconoscerla nei piccoli grandi momenti che la vita ci offre, nei volti, nei luoghi. Per me, l'arte è la rappresentazione della vita in tutte le sue forme.

I commit to narrating the beauty, the lightness, and the drama of life. I want to create photographs and videos capable of stirring emotions, of prompting reflection, of leading us to hidden places within ourselves, where colors speak and hearts beat. To photograph not only lively places and bustling locations but also the diversity of people in their features and colors. I want to tell the story of beauty, to recognize it in the small, significant moments that life offers us, in faces, in places. For me, art is the representation of life in all its forms.

Pietro Calligaris nasce a Monfalcone (GO) nel 1999 e risiede a Palermo, dove frequenta l’Accademia di Belle Arti e lavora come fotografo freelance, specializzato nelle seguenti aree: set photography, fine art photography, portrait photography.
Laureato in filosofia all’università di Bologna, nel 2021 si trasferisce a Palermo, dove coniuga gli studi con la sensibilità verso le ingiustizie sociali sviluppando progetti fotografici focalizzati su tematiche socio-culturali.
Nel 2023, riceve un prestigioso riconoscimento con il suo progetto “Choice” vincendo il primo premio dei concorsi sia della Fondazione Paolina Brugnatelli che della Fondazione Primoli, ed espone il progetto a Roma presso Officine Fotografiche ad aprile 2024.
Attualmente, è impegnato in un progetto a lungo termine a riguardo degli elementi naturali in relazione alla crisi ambientale e collabora con il Parco archeologico di Segesta per la creazione di un progetto site-specific incentrato sulla tematica degli incendi nel sud Italia.

Pietro Calligaris was born in Monfalcone (GO) in 1999 and currently resides in Palermo, where he attends the Academy of Fine Arts and works as a freelance photographer, specializing in the following areas: staged photography, fine art photography, and portrait photography.
After completing his philosophy degree at the University of Bologna, in 2021, he moved to Palermo, where he combines his studies with a sensitivity to social injustices, developing photographic projects focused on socio-cultural themes.
In 2023, he receives a prestigious recognition with his project "Choice," winning the first prize in competitions held by both the Paolina Brugnatelli Foundation and the Primoli Foundation; he exposes the project in Rome at Officine Fotografiche in April 2024.
Currently, he is involved in a long-term project related to natural elements in the context of the environmental crisis. Additionally, he collaborates with the archaeological site of Segesta for the creation of a site-specific project focused on the theme of wildfires in southern Italy.
